Accumulation of uneaten feed, excreta, dead plankton create a
sludge on the pond bottom and turbid water in ecosystem. Digestion
of sludge by indigenous microorganisms is slow and consumes
more dissolve oxygen from the pond ecosystem. This process may
help to lead and form ammonia, nitrites and other toxic gases.
